Sacrifice = More!!!

A new week begins tomorrow and it's time for those last minute thoughts before slumber.  This week has been busy as per usual, it's hard to fathom that it was only Wednesday that I was writing about networking - it seems like a month ago when I wrote that post.

I had one really amazing person fire me up and totally inspire me this week and that person is my big sister Kirsten Engels who entered her first body building competition and won!  Wow - what an achievement!!
It's so easy to sit on the sidelines and cheer her on now and be proud after she gets that first prize but how easily we all forget the hard work it took for her to get to that point.
A lot of the time to win, to be the best and to reach those big goals, it requires what us mere mortals consider "sacrifice".  We give the hard work and determination this name as though we are giving something up, but in reality doesn't sacrifice usually lead to GAINING something that we desire???  It's funny that we have given such a negative connotation to an action that typically brings us to a better place.
I imagine that each time my sister "sacrificed" some kind of yummy treat or "sacrificed" her free time to work out she was gaining so much more.

It all gives me a different perspective.  Tomorrow morning instead of  thinking that I'm "sacrificing" my sleep in time, I'm waking up early to work out, to gain a better me.

Big congrats to my sister!!  She is a huge inspiration for me and always has been - I am a very lucky person to have had such an amazing influence in my life.
